The Boston Celtics have a long-standing rivalry with the Los Angeles Lakers, who have won more championships than any other NBA franchise with sixteen titles. The team is also historically tied with the Golden State Warriors for having the most wins in NBA history. Since 1950, the Boston Celtics have played their home games at TD Garden, which was formerly known as the FleetCenter from 1995 to 2010, and as TD Banknorth Garden from 2010 to 2012. The franchise has played its home games in Boston since 1946 when it was known as the Boston Celtics before changing its name to the Jersey City Celtics in 1947; it moved to Hartford, Connecticut when it became the New York Knickerbockers before settling on its current name in 1952.
